George Toriello researched U.S. Revolutionary War Rolls 1775-1783 and found this information on Cornelius Bogert: Cornelius Bogert was born on August 9, 1744 in Dumont, New Jersey and died on September 30, 1825. He had a very short stint in the service becoming a Private with the 1st Regiment, New Jersey Militia from September of what year is not revealed, to October 1780. Cornelius Bogert and the name in Bergen County is well known for their service during the Revolution and his grave has been recognized for many years as a person who served during the Revolution as his gravestone reveals. |
